RETROICOR regressors without RVT

AFNI version info (afni -ver): Precompiled binary linux_ubuntu_16_64: Jun 23 2023 (Version AFNI_23.1.09 'Publius Helvius Pertinax')

Hello,
I want to perform RETROICOR within afni_proc.py by using the cardiac and respiratory regressors as explained in Glover et al.,2000. From the topics I've followed here, I understand that 3dretroicor has not recently updated, and it is suggested to use RetroTS.m to generate regressors for RETROICOR (within the ricor block in afni_proc.py after despike and before all other blocks). However, RetroTS.m output also includes 5 RVT regressors apart from the original RETROICOR regressors. Since I will later investigate the relationship between my preprocessed data and RVT, I do not want to include RVT regressors in the preprocessing steps.

In my situation, do you suggest using 3dretroicor directly or using RetroTS.m and manually deleting the RVT regressors from the output before using in the ricor block?

Additionally, as RetroTS.m also resamples my physiological data based on TR, before using it I only needed to synchronize the start and end times of my physiological and fMRI data. However, if I need to use 3dretroicor, do I need to resample the physiological data before using them as input to 3dretroicor in afni_proc.py?

Thank you in advance!
Best,
