after creat a 360 colors's colormap how to show it?

Hello you all,
I have created a colormap which contains 360 colors. but when I want to show the colormap, it is no response.
I want to create this kind of colormap
image

and I have write a .pal file as below:
color_all_360
#00ffff
#03fcff
#06f9ff
#08f6ff
#0bf4ff
#0ef1ff
#11eeff
#14ebff
....

361 lines.

afni -XXXnpanes 360
and then load this .pal file. the colormap hasn't changed.

Howdy-

I believe the cbars have to have powers of 2, with 256 being the default. You could write that to 512 colors. Or, if you want more equal lines, to 1024 or 2048. Then you could use one of:

afni -XXXnpanes 512

afni -XXXnpanes 1024

afni -XXXnpanes 2048

--pt

Howdy-
Thank you for your reply. I have tried to change the color to 256, but it still not work.

is there something wrong?

Hi-

I think that should work. What I did:

  • I saved your 257-line information into a file called "my_cbar.pal", and put that into the directory where I would run AFNI.

  • Then I started up the afni GUI and loaded an overlay.

  • Then, I Right-clicked on the Olay button above the default colorbar, and selected "Read in palette". There was one option to select, my *.pal file. I selected this.

  • Then I Right-clicked the colorbar itself, and selected "Choose Colorscale". From the menu that opened up, I scrolled dooooown to the bottom of the list, and saw "color_all_256". I selected that and clicked "Set".

After that, voila!

hi,
thank you very much.
Now I know why I didn't succeed. after same first three steps, I didn't do the fourth step.
But after doing the fourth step I can show the color bar too.
thank you.

We wouldn't want to make things too easy!

Glad that sorted it. Happy colorizing!
