What is study date & time at MR Images?

I have question about DICOM tag, study date & time.

(0008, 0020) study date
(0008, 0030) study time

When I see MR images by PACS viewer, I can see Study date & Time.

Study date & Time is the which step time?

  1. The time that take the patient information from worklist to MR console monitor.

  2. The time that push the scan start button by technologist.

  3. The time that first image is sent and stored at PACS.

Somebody said to me “study date & time is the time that take the patient information from worklist to MR console monitor”

But I think he is wrong.

where can I get official document about my question?

Thanks.

According to the ACR-NEMA documentation, these fields are defined :

http://www.acr.org/~/media/acr/documents/pdf/qualitysafety/nrdr/dir/dataelementsindirheadersr.pdf

Study Date (0008,0020) Date the Study started, if any previous procedure steps within the same study have already been
performed.
Acquisition Date (0008,022) The date the acquisition of data that resulted in sources started.
Study Time (0008,0030) The time the acquisition of data that resulted in sources started.

Note that just because the documentation says these are what they are, it doesn’t mean they are actually used that way. DICOM is interpreted by scanner and PACS vendors and mangled in a seemingly unending variety of ways.
