Hi,

How to custom FATCAT_matplot figure output ?
For example, set font size of roi names and show a colour bar of the circos or heat map ?

I will let Justin provide details on the FATCAT_matplot tool.

For just viewing plain, ol’ matrices, you can use the plotting functionality, with many control options, in fat_mat_sel.py:

Hi,
For the circos, there is not yet an option for the color bar.
I can try to add that.
Also for the circos, you can adjust the font size indirectly by changing the image size:

For the both the circos and heatmap png, I can add an option for changing the font size.
It will take a bit of trial and error to get a size that works well if you have a lot of ROIs.

I’ll reply to this post when I add those options. Hopefully this week…

I’m not sure if those kinds of things can be controlled through matplotlib configuration files or by changing the “backend”. Here’s some more information at this link on the matplotlibrc customization file.

The default backend on the Mac might be MACOSX, but that can be set with the MPLBACKEND environment variable. But you can change this to other backends, I found setting that to QT4AGG worked best for visualizing jpeg images with matplotlib.py.
